My First Love: Jezuba

They say that no matter what, you’ll never forget your first love. And when it comes to my involvement with nonprofit organizations, Jezuba would be my first love.
Last year in February, my mentor from Braven introduced me to Rebecca Liao. Through my conversation with her, I was not only able to gain a better understanding of corporate finance, but I also learned about Jezuba! I was captivated by Jezuba’s mission to empower young individuals by providing a platform to solve social issues and make an environmental impact. Shortly after, co-founders Rebecca and Iris welcomed me to the team with open arms, and I became Jezuba’s first volunteer intern.

Just like a first love would, Jezuba gave me many of my first times: taking and editing photos for ecommerce merchandise, exploring social media marketing techniques, writing blogs, scouting for fundraising opportunities, and even hosting a live panel event; I was able to take on these opportunities because the team on Jezuba gave me the courage to do so.

From June of this year, I became one of the co-chief of staff for Jezba’s first internship program. Having new interns join the team marked a new beginning for Jezuba . Everyone on the team is just so diligent, passionate, and friendly - I knew that Jezuba was in good hands. We were full of new ideas and ambition to start on different projects, all which allowed us to make Jezuba what it is today.

As we wrap up the summer, I’d like to thank the whole team for your guidance, patience, and most importantly, your hard work. Until we all meet again, may you continue your journey be filled with bravery and compassion!!
