Worldwide, 1 in 7 people currently live without electricity. While technology as greatly advanced, some communities are still left behind. Without electricity, activities such as cooking and homework after sunset are difficult. Simple tasks like walking to the bathroom after dark can be dangerous. Providing solar LED lamps means alleviating these struggles and providing basic necessities to people's daily lives.

Why Portable Solar LEDs?

• Portable solar lamps are cheaper and more versatile than on-roof solar panels. This is important because many people in the Mercy Villages, who we donate to, are in a state of flux, so the solar lamps can be taken with them as they move.
• People also do not have to rely on the third party providers of their electricity, they can control their energy usage directly.
• Solar LED lamps can replace hazardous materials like kerosene that are used to light homes.
• Solar powered electricity also contributes to sustainable development.
• With solar LED lamps at their disposal, students can go to school longer and families are safer.
